PROFILE - Meet K'Dough; singer , Songwriter, Entrepreneur



Michael Amon (Born April 29 ) Known Professionally as K'dough is a Ghanaian Rapper, Songwriter, and a businessman. He embarked on his musical career as a teenager under the stage name Kwame dough releasing mixtapes which captivated people in his locality. He started his own record team  Waidar World Records (WWR) which began to gain recognition in 2007. The following year K'dough independently released 9 singles which were supposed to be part of his mixtape album "THE PROOF". Waidar, as he was affectionately called, in that year, had gained attention both on the Internet and radio leading to his collaboration with several Hip-hop loving artistes in the East such as Ragoon, Shankoma, Billy as well as His his feature on the Akuapem All-Stars in 2011.



Michael Amon was born to the Patricia Baidu and the late Amos Amon Kotey. He was then Known as Amon Kotey Jnr. His Primary and Middle School education was at the King Jesus School and Kumasi High School respectively. K'dough eagerly combined the street music and his formal education at the same time.
According to his mum, K'dough used to be banging out drum patterns on the kitchen table, plates or anything he lays hands on and began freestyling and writing lyrics. His grandfather whom he lived with for a while was often furious due to this.
At the sophomore stage, K'dough was introduced to a group known as the Cash Farmers which was also interested in African Hip-hop hence paid organizers at hotels, clubs, pubs in order to perform for their exposure.
He adopted his show biz name K'dough at that time.
After High School,  he worked as an apprentice under his father in a small scale craft shop For a year

He gained admission into the University of Ghana in 2010 where he pursues Psychology & Linguists. He made good use of the student population at that time where he got billed for several Shows on campus like artists nite, Alumni fanfare as well as student politician's campaign. Songs like Magic stick, Legon aboyowa, legon lifestyle made waves catapulting him to a mega level.



K'dough with the assistance of his early childhood friend Asante started Quik Grinz Studio,  a 16 - track recording studio in 2012 in order to enhance his production. He continued to release mixtape albums and other singles to win the attention of the media, mainstream and other top awarded musicians in Ghana.
